Description
DURNGATE STREET 1. 5191 (South Side) Salvation Army Citadel SY 6990 7/167 II 2. Late C19. Brown brick with ashlar dressings. 2-gabled front. LH gable has 4 buttresses, outer ones with pinnacles. Cusped single lancets to outer bays. Central window has 3 cusped lancets and EE tracery. Spherical triangle in gable end. Pointed arched door with flanking colonnettes (crocket capitals) taking single roll moulding. Right hand gable has similar windows but adjacent to each other and separated by very slender buttresses rising from porch with similar door and diagonal buttresses.
