Country house. Built 1874, in early Victorian, classical, style. Grey brick walls with ashlar dressings, and raised ashlar quoins. Slate roof, with parapet to the main block. Brick stacks - one at left end, one at junction of main and service blocks, one at rear of main block. 2 storeys. Main block has heavy moulded dentil cornice at base of parapet, and cornice moulding at first floor level. Central projecting bay, with pediment. Central single-storey porch with Tuscan columns supporting entablature, and balustraded parapet with corner urns. Pair of raised panel doors under solid tympanum with radiating flutes, in moulded arch. On ground floor, left of porch, one sash with moulded surround: no window right of door. 3 similar sashes on first floor, with bracketed cills. Left of the main block a service range, in similar construction, with no parapet. Plain plat band at first floor level. On ground floor, 2 sashes with glazing bars in moulded surrounds. Small mezzanine window. On first floor 3 sashes in moulded surrounds, with bracketed cills. Lean-to addition at left end. Internally, main rooms retain original enriched cornices, marble fireplace surrounds, and panelled doors with reeded architraves. Cut string stair with turned balusters and wreathed handrail. Largely unaltered Victorian country house.
