CHEAP STREET 1. 1625 (South West Side) Nos 42 and 44 ST
6316 1/48 II GV 2. C18 to early C19 alterations to an earlier timber-framed structure, possibly of a homogenous character to Nos 38 and 46. 2 storeys. 4 window bays. No 42 has plaintile roof with C19 dormer; No 44 has stone slate roof. At right hand end is moulded stone corbel, suggesting that there was originally an oversailing timber-framed upper storey which has been replaced by stone. 3-light casements to lst floor, various windows below, including three shop fronts and 2 doorways. Panelled doors within.
Nos 2 to 30 (even) and Nos 34 to 50 (even) form a group.
