Description
ST 30 SE THORNCOMBE SADBOROW 3/76 Detached Service Block 5 metres West of Sadborow House GV II Detached Service Block. Late C18. Rubble walls with brick quoins and dressings. Slate roof, with dovetail slates. Slate-hung cupola at ridge with oval openings and lead cap. Weathervane. Two storeys. Three doors wide. One upper-storey casement window. Three stable doors with brick dressed jambs. Left hand opening now blocked. Central opening: no door. Right hand opening, wooden plank door survives. Stone armorial panel, square, over central door, shows the arms of Bragge quartering. Interior, formerly divided into Bakehouse, Brewhouse and Laundry. Large bread oven in central area, with rectangular opening with segmental arch-head.
