Description

WEST STAFFORD SY 78 NW 11/203 Cart shed and barn immediately north east of Stafford Farm House GV II Cart shed and barn. Probably c1837. Cart shed has brick walls and slate roof with gablet ends. One storey and loft. Plat band at loft floor level. On ground floor, 5 segmental arches on brick piers, the centre 2 buttressed. In loft, one loft door, one casement with cast iron glazing, under gabled dormers. Loft floor approached by external stairs at right end - balustrade wall of Flemish style. Collar beam roof with shaped curved braces - the principal rafters carried on wall posts. Barn attached at right angles, has brick walls and half hipped slate roof. Hipped cart porch - doors replaced by corrugated iron. Some slit openings and later windows at rear. Roof of 5 bays, of simple king post construction. Listing NGR: SY7253188745
